Tall Ships & Baltimore’s America 250 Celebrations
Member Niall O’Malley has a lifelong interest in tall ships and sailing. Prior to getting his MBA he served as watch captain on a 55-foot sloop for five months in the South Pacific that was making its way around the world. He has crewed on sail boats that have navigated the Diamond Sholes, the Gulf Stream and Bermuda. He serves on the board of the Pride of Baltimore and is a member of the Maryland Center for History and Culture’s Maritime Committee.
Baltimore, with its rich maritime history, is preparing to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the country. From June 24th, 2026, through June 30th. Baltimore’s harbor will come alive with Tall Ships and naval vessels as part of Sail250 Maryland. The presentation will touch on Baltimore’s maritime history and the international flotilla of Tall Ships that are taking part in the America 250 celebrations, which will include Blue Angel flyovers and fireworks.
